Welcome to the Alberta Traditional Bowhunters Association (ATBA) website, located at https://www.atba.ca (the “Site”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the ATBA website, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or have parental consent) and possess the legal authority to enter into this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our Site.

2. Description of Services

The ATBA provides an online platform to support traditional bowhunting in Alberta, including but not limited to:

  • Membership registration and renewals.
  • Information on the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Fun Shoots.
  • Educational resources on traditional archery equipment (longbows, recurves, etc.).
  • Historical record-keeping for game awards.
  • Community forums and event updates.
3. Membership & Accounts
  • Registration: To access certain features (such as trophy registration or member discounts), you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • Fees: Membership dues are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. ATBA reserves the right to change membership fees with prior notice to the members.
  • Affiliation: ATBA members may receive benefits through the Alberta Bowhunters Association (ABA). Use of those benefits is subject to the ABA’s respective terms and insurance policies.
4. User Conduct & Content

As a community-focused organization, we require all users to act respectfully. You agree NOT to:

  • Post content that is illegal, defamatory, or promotes unethical hunting practices.
  • Use the Site to harass, threaten, or infringe on the rights of others.
  • Upload photos or data to the “Historical Records” or “Gallery” that you do not own the rights to.
  • Use the site for unauthorized commercial solicitations.
5.Intellectual Property
  • Our Content: All text, graphics, logos, and software on this Site are the property of ATBA or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international copyright laws.
  • Your Content: By submitting photos or stories (e.g., for “Le Flecheur” or the Gallery), you grant ATBA a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Association’s mission.
6. Fair Chase and Ethics

The ATBA is dedicated to the “Creed” of traditional bowhunting. Users of this site and members of the association are expected to uphold the principles of fair chase and abide by all Alberta Fish & Wildlife regulations. ATBA reserves the right to revoke membership or site access for individuals who bring the sport into disrepute.

7. Limitation of Liability

The ATBA provides information on archery events, hunting locations, and equipment for educational and community purposes.

  • Risk: Archery and bowhunting involve inherent risks. ATBA is not liable for any injuries or damages resulting from participation in events listed on the Site.
  • Website Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that the information on the Site is error-free or up-to-date.
8. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to partner retailers, the ABA, or government agencies. ATBA is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.

9. Privacy Policy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect and use your personal data for membership and communication purposes.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Site or your membership at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the ATBA community.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
